My Inspiration for Making These Applesauce Waffles

I created this applesauce waffle recipe one day when I ran out of fresh apples.

I always try to include fruits or vegetables in the meals I make for my kids.

So they can get their vitamins every day.

Well, one morning, without any fruits or vegetables in the house, I had no choice but to use my baby’s applesauce.

The waffles turned out better than I’d expected. It tasted just as delicious as a fresh apple waffle would taste.

I’ve been making this recipe every since for my baby and toddler.

You can use premade waffle mix

To save time, I’ve used premade waffle mix in the past.

If you’re doing this method, you need to get the “just add water “ types.

Those will ensure that you can follow my recipe directly by replacing the water with milk.

I prefer using Kodiak Cake pancake and waffle mix for this recipe.

The recipe comes out well when I use this brand.

Ingredients For Baby-friendly Applesauce Waffles

Flour – I used a combination of all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour for this recipe. You can choose either one you want.

Applesauce – I used the applesauce in pouches as opposed to the ones in cups.

Applesauce in cups tends to be smaller in quantity than pouches. If using the one in cups, be sure to adjust the recipe.

Milk – I use lactaid milk because I’m lactose intolerant. You can use a milk alternative as well if you prefer.

Eggs – eggs help to increase the fat content in the waffles.

Oil – oil is important for the fat content of the waffles. It also helps to make it more moist.
